Sometimes people make promises like a tool in negotiations. Children will promise to hurry and do their homework if they can watch one more hour of television. Brothers and sisters promise to do each other’s laundry in exchange for not telling mom or dad what really happened. Or we promise to have and to hold, for better or worse until death do us part, only to find ourselves signing divorce papers.
Have you ever made a promise to someone that you were unable to keep? There is someone that I know who has made a lot of promises, all of which you will find throughout the Bible. Philippians 4:19 says that “God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” So that means that he will supply us with love, food, clothing, companionship and most importantly salvation through Jesus Christ. Not to be confused with the needs that society has placed on us to be wealthy, thin, sexy, or drive the nicest car in the parking lot.
God’s promises are eternal, everlasting, never changing. No man could ever make a promise that could compare to His. The Bible is full of promises that apply to all who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Trust and believe that God ALWAYS keeps His promises.
